Cardinal Newman College, Preston
Client - Cardinal Newman College | Main Contractor - J Greenwood Builders | Architect - Ellis Williams
Mansell is on site in Preston working at Cardinal Newman College, Preston, on a brand new, three-story teaching facility. Built on a site that previously functioned as a car park, we’re working with J Greenwood Builders Ltd on the project just off Lark Hill Road.
The new building will expand upon the college’s current arts and media departments to create a cutting-edge facility for the students. It will include a TV studio, a fully-equipped photo studio, additional classrooms with dedicated open learning areas and new rooms dedicated to graphics, art and media.
Scope of works
Working with architects Ellis Williams and main contractor J Greenwood Builders Ltd. Mansell will be delivering an infill steel frame system for external wall linings and internal wall partitions and ceilings.
For the SFS solution, we build the steel frame on-site working to designs coordinated with the architectural requirements of the scheme and considering all interfacing components and trades. Our onsite finishes team will also bring their skills to the table in the delivery of the wall partitions, ceilings and spray finishes.
With a similar approach to our offsite solutions, we worked with the wider design team from the earliest stages of the project, ensuring that the delivery of the SFS external wall linings were set up for success.
The bottom line
The work at Cardinal Newman College will provide the students with high quality facilities in which to thrive and further their educations. With the power of our on-site steel framing solutions and our expertise in finishes, we supported the project to deliver the qualities needed for success.
