Our history.

1991 was the year the business formed. Back then we were called Mansell Plasterers, with Ted Mansell at the reins delivering contracts for Manchester City works.

Workload grew, our team grew, and we rebranded to Mansell Finishes to reflect the wider services on offer. Our work on some the largest schemes across the northwest, including Media City, Kings Waterfront and Manchester Royal Infirmary, firmly placed us as the go-to specialist contractor in the region.  

Investment in our first permanent production facility in 2014 recognised of the growing demand for off-site SFS which was an exciting step. Just two years later we moved to significantly larger premises in Middleton which trebled our production capacity.

Sadly, Ted passed away in 2018, with Angela and Steph taking on managing director and business support director roles respectively thereafter. That’s when ‘challenging the norm’ became our norm. Tackling industry expectations and driving change.

Today, we’re something quite different to the early days. The family values and dedication to our clients of course still remain, however our aspiration to work collaboratively, to challenge and improve the industry, is resolute. Creating a legacy and making a real difference is what we strive for… whilst having some fun along the way obviously.

2021 saw us celebrate our 30th year. We partied, we raised a glass to Ted and we chatted about what the next 30 years will hold. Let’s see shall we…
