Targeting net zero carbon by 2038

Back in 2019 the Government announced an amend to the Climate Change Act by introducing a target of at least a 100% reduction in the net UK carbon account by 2050.

Recognising the impact of construction on the environment, we are tackling issues such as resource protection and climate change head on. Across our operations and our associated activities and services, our commitment to long-term sustainability and working to eliminate carbon is something at the forefront of our strategy.

We have just launched our Carbon Reduction Plan, a document which sets out our commitment to achieving net zero. Following research and analysis of our current emissions to identify benchmark figures and agreeing a series of environmental management measures and projects, we have committed to reach net zero by 2038, much earlier than the Government target.

This is a significant initiative which will see some new ways of working over the coming years in order to reach our target. You can click here to read the Plan in full.
