Shaping the future at Mansell
One of the UK’s longest established, and most experienced sub-contractor in its field is poised for an exciting future by announcing a refreshed trading name, head office relocation and a new service offering.
Providing on-site finishes and off-site steel frames to main contractors and developers up and down the country, Mansell Finishes Ltd is unveiling a refreshed trading name as part of a new brand identity. The Greater Manchester based business has been a renowned drylining specialist since its formation almost 30-years ago, following which, sustained growth in the off-site framing division has seen the sub-contractor expand further both geographically and with new clients. The new name ‘Mansell Building Solutions Ltd’ now represents a more inclusive offering for the business as a whole.
In addition to the brand refresh, the second-generation family led business is on the move and relocating from its current base in Middleton, to a new head office in Bolton which will accommodate the management and support teams. The premises will also incorporate Mansell’s large manufacturing facility which pre-fabricates steel panels prior to being delivered to site on a just-in-time basis.
Mansell has worked on some of the most prominent developments changing the skyline of town and city centres. Northwest schemes currently on site, or recently completed, include The Factory, Kampus and Manchester New Square, plus significant landmarks completed over the years such as Media City, Manchester Royal Infirmary and Greater Manchester Police HQ in a drylining capacity.
The next strategic step for the business is the expansion into the low-rise housing market with light gauge steel frame (LGSF) systems. Given the significant importance of modern methods of construction, building efficiencies and fire risk mitigation, this solution is well suited to the social housing sector, or developments between two and six storeys in height, and offers a direct alternative to timber frames and traditional construction.
Within just 30-days, pre-panelised LGSF has been installed on Mansell’s first low-rise housing scheme Broadoak Mews, Solihull. Driving design and construction efficiencies from the very outset of this project has consequently resulted in a swifter programme and safer installation processes, with the development firmly on target for completion in September 2021.
Angela Mansell, MD commented “We’re really pleased that our focus on the low-rise housing market is building momentum. The solution to build quicker and more sustainably, yet maintain an exceptional level of quality, is something which is long overdue in the industry, and we are now offering LGSF solutions to registered providers, private developers, and their construction partners, across the region to assist with the Affordable Homes Programme and housing demand generally.
“The opportunity to relocate our head office, coupled with a new trading name as part of our refreshed brand identify, positions us really well for the next chapter ahead. We aren’t moving too far and will always remain firmly rooted within the Greater Manchester region, however it’s quite exciting to establish new relationships within Bolton and ‘support local’ as much as possible. Once settled into our new office we are keen to open the doors to our manufacturing facility and hold factory tours to showcase our steel frame production in full flow.”
