Meet the team… Gemma Boyle

We are who we are because of our fantastic roster of passionate professionals who enable us to deliver cutting-edge work for our clients. In our “Meet the Team” series, we’re pulling back the curtain and introducing you to some of the people who make the magic happen.

This month, we’re speaking to Executive Assistant, Gemma Boyle.

What do you do at Mansell?

I'm an Executive Assistant here, supporting Angela, Steph, Steve, and the leadership team. My role is to help organise everyone a bit better, ensure we deliver great client service, and help us achieve our goals as a company.

Putting it simply, I use my organisational powers to make sure Mansell can function as a well-oiled machine.

How did you get into working as an Executive Assistant?

I've always had secretarial experience and about ten years ago, I moved into more commercial EA roles for CEOs.

The variety that comes with the EA roll is unmatched - no day is ever the same. I’ve had weeks where one day I’m purchasing tickets for the Superbowl, and the next I’m sourcing a pair of kid’s football boots. The role never fails to keep you guessing.

Could you share a bit about your work history?

Before Mansell, I worked at musicMagpie in Stockport. I’m sure you’ve seen the adverts on TV and some of you might even have boxed up a few old CDs and DVDs and sent them off to them. Before that, I was with the British Cycling Federation, which was quite different as it's a non-profit. Earlier, I worked at Kitbag, now called Fanatics. These were all great places to work for different reasons and at each, I was able to play to my strengths and give them an organisational edge.

Right now, I’m at the start of a new chapter with Mansell and I’m looking forward to all the new challenges that holds.

How long have you been at Mansell and what are your first impressions?

I’ve been here just over two months now. The experience so far has been great, especially with the run-up to Christmas involving lots of client engagement and colleague activities. Everyone's been very welcoming and helpful, especially as I'm new to the industry.

There’s a real family atmosphere here and a sense of pride in what we do.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?

Travelling and seeing the world is a massive passion of mine. Last year, we did a California road trip from San Francisco down to LA – an absolute bucket list trip. The next trip on the cards is to Florida where we’ll see all the sites the Sunshine State has to offer.

Also, I’ve recently got into running. Last year, I focused on park runs and 5K races, setting myself a few targets to meet before 2025 came around. This year, it’s all about the 10ks.

Red or blue

Blue which puts me in a minority at Mansell. Angela says it could’ve been worse, I could’ve been a Liverpool fan!

It's been great getting to know Gemma a little better and seeing how her unique background and interests contribute to their role here at Mansell. Stay tuned for more insights from other team members in future editions of our "Meet the Team" series.
