Meet the team… Ian Curme

Mansell is a people business.

We are who we are because of our fantastic roster of passionate professionals who enable us to deliver cutting-edge work for our clients. In our “Meet the Team” series, we’re pulling back the curtain and introducing you to some of the people who make the magic happen.

This month, we’re speaking to our Pre-Construction Manager Ian Curme.

What was your first day at MBS like? Just 2 months ago but it feels much longer already. It was well-organised and very welcoming. An induction process was in place and I got to meet a lot of people and understand their roles very quickly. My new colleagues were keen to affirm Mansell is a great place to work and, if I could fit into the team, I would really enjoy it. So far, they’re correct.

Why did you want to join the company? I had a little inside information that gave me a really positive review of Mansell but, meeting the team during the interview process and witnessing the passion for innovation and quality with the right clients sealed the deal for me. It feels like Mansell has so much potential to offer in the future and the leadership team has a passion to continue developing for the good of everyone in the company.

Fish 'n' chips or Sunday roast? Fish and Chips at the coast, Sunday Roast in the countryside.

What’s your favourite hobby? Lots of interests outside of work. Summer is golf, cricket, kite-surfing and mostly outdoors. Winter is the gym, dog walks and waiting for summer. If you can have a social beer afterwards, the chances are I've done it as a hobby.

Are you a red or a blue? Currently about 50 places below both United and City, I have a season ticket at the Toughsheet Stadium, the home of the mighty Bolton Wanderers.

What makes you smile? Other people’s happiness. It's infectious. It’s hard to smile when people around you aren’t.

Describe your perfect Saturday. All the jobs around the house are done by magic, my son scores a load of runs at cricket, my daughter dances until she can’t dance anymore, I’m in the presence of great company, the sun is shining, there’s some good music playing, delicious food is on the menu and there are smiley sun-kissed faces all around
